Student Mobility for Placement comprises a specified period where students receive vocational/professional training and/or gain work experience at a company or organization operating in one of the programme countries. Erasmus+ supports traineeships (work placements, internships, etc) abroad for students currently enrolled in higher education institutions in Programme countries at Bachelor and Master level as well as for doctoral candidates. These opportunities are also open to recent graduates. Many departments get requests directly from students who wish to carry out a "traineeship" / research projects within Erasmus +. It is of course optional to host a traineeship student, and since they come outside of established student exchange agreements they are not entitled to the same service as exchange students.
